Due to its central location, tourism has become a big part of Cape Coral . The city is easily reached via Fort Myers ' International Airport and thousands of people visit each year.

Most European and other international Airports have flights arriving at Fort Myers Airport . Air Berlin , for instance, flies directly from Germany Duesseldorf to Fort Myers , nonstop. On arrival you can pick up your rental car immediately adjacent to the Arrival/Departure area and be at any of our Cape Coral or Fort Myers Beach rental homes in 40 minutes or less.

Once you arrive at your vacation home you will find a personal welcome package including information about the area and general tips for your stay in Florida .

A stay in one of BMI's vacation homes will be an unforgettable experience for you. You'll enjoy every aspect of a well cared-for house. Start with breakfast on the pool deck or a morning swim in the private swimming pool. After extensive sun bathing on your lanai you may want to cool off in the pool as well. In the evening you can grill your dinner and eat outside while enjoying a beautiful Florida sunset.

Even everyday shopping can be a unique experience in Southwest Florida . From almost anywhere a supermarket like Publix is only minutes away. Their assortment includes some of the best vegetables, fruits, breads, meats and steaks you could possibly want. You can buy regional fish at your supermarket, or head over to Matlacha to pick out your fresh fish, shrimp and other seafood from local fishermen.

Shopping isn't a favorite pastime of only Americans – as we have learned from our international guests! Thanks to nearby shopping malls and the many outlet malls in the area, great deals are always to be had. Customer service is the most important to any shop owner, which makes your shopping experience pleasant and relaxing.

Restaurants are plenty and anything you have an appetite for can be found. Be it Italian, German, a great Steakhouse or fresh fish – there are so many restaurants that you could visit a different one each day and never get bored with your food. And just like in the shopping malls, customer service is always important to everyone in the restaurant business.

For enjoying the outdoors, you can travel through our local parks, or rent a canoe and paddle through mangrove forests to feel like you're simply in a different world.

A visit to one of our many beautiful, white sand beaches will be an unforgettable experience for you. Lovers Key Park , Fort Myers Beach , Sanibel and Captiva Islands are a short car ride away, and you'll see a variety of native animals and wildlife including birds and dolphins.

Swimming in the Gulf of Mexico and collecting shells as souvenirs has always been very popular, but for those who like to be more physically active, paragliding, jet skiing and windsurfing are also available.

Whether you reach the Gulf of Mexico from your won boat dock or close by marinas, it will be an adventure enjoyed by everyone and not just the boaters among you. During your travel on water you'll pass many local islands and beaches. It's a special event to anchor at one of the smaller islands such as Breakfast Island , Bikini Island or Cayo Costa, because just like the small Gasparilla Islands , they are uninhabited and can only be reached by boat. You will encounter the adventurer within you when you're at the helm of your boat.

Many waterfront restaurants have their won boat docks so instead of driving to breakfast, lunch or dinner you can enjoy a boat ride there! Or, you may just want to stop on your wary for a little refreshment. On Cabbage Key there is a restaurant where people stick dollar bills on the walls to show “I was here”. You may marvel at dolphins swimming next to your boat, or watch a beautiful sunset on the water. By the end of the day you'll have plenty to talk about for a long time to come.

Cape Coral and Fort Meyers are so centrally located that it's easy to take a 1 to 3 day trip to the many amusement parks and attractions Florida has to offer. Tampa 's Busch Gardens , Orlando 's Disney Parks , SeaWorld, NASA, and the Everglades to name a few.

You will have forgotten the daily grind even before the sun sets on your first day here.

WELCOME TO THE CAPE
